About Amber M. Brookman

Amber Brookman began her career as a top model and fashion spokesperson before breaking barriers in the textile industry as one of the first women in management at a prestigious fibers company where she led major marketing campaigns in the outdoor industry. She later founded a textile company that became a leader in the outdoor and activewear markets. When her parent company experienced financial difficulties, she was appointed COO and guided the company through bankruptcy and acquisition via a public corporation. She was appointed president and CEO where she led the company for 32 years, transforming it into a major U.S. supplier of high-performance fabrics for military, outdoor, industrial and medical markets. The company embraced advanced technology, continuous growth, and a hiring practice that was raceless, genderless, and ageless long before such values were widely adopted.

Amber holds multiple patents and has been a committed advocate for environmental sustainability and charitable outreach throughout her career. Nobody’s Girl is her debut book.
